Terms & Conditions
Last updated 27 August 2026.
These are the terms Schafer Services works under. They apply to quotes, orders, and installations. On larger projects you will also sign a Project & Deposit Agreement — if anything there differs from this page, the signed agreement is what governs your job.
Quotes and estimates
A quote covers only the work described in it. Prices are based on the sizes, quantities, materials, and details you give us. If any of that changes, the price can change.
Quoted prices include Illinois sales tax. Shipping, hardware, and installation are quoted separately and appear on your quote before you pay.
Deposits and payment
Projects totaling $1,000 or more require a 50% deposit to begin work and secure scheduling, unless we agree otherwise in writing. Smaller orders are paid upfront.
Deposits are non-refundable. Once we receive a deposit you are committing to the project, and we may begin scheduling, designing, ordering materials, preparing files, and other production work.
A deposit is refunded only if Schafer Services is unable to fulfill the agreed project. Cancelling, changing your plans, not providing the information we need, not making the property or vehicle available, or deciding not to go ahead does not entitle you to a refund of the deposit.
Proofs and approval
You approve a proof before anything is printed, cut, or installed. Reviewing and approving the final design is your responsibility.
Once a proof is approved, that is what gets made. Schafer Services is not responsible for errors in an approved design. Changes requested after approval may add cost and may push your completion date.
Your artwork and information
We are not responsible for incorrect measurements, artwork, logos, or other information you provide. Additional costs caused by incorrect information are your responsibility.
When you send us artwork, a logo, or text to reproduce, you confirm you own it or have permission to use it, and that printing it does not infringe anyone else's rights. If a claim is made against us over artwork you supplied, you agree to cover the costs of that claim. We may decline any job we believe infringes someone else's rights.
Design work we create
When we create original artwork for your job, you may use that finished design for your own business — signs, shirts, vehicles, print, and online. The working files we build along the way stay with the shop, and we keep them so reorders are easy.
If you want the working files released to you, ask and we will quote it.
Change orders
The quoted price covers only the work described in the estimate. Additional work or changes you request may increase the price. We will tell you before that happens.
Production and timelines
Completion dates are estimates, not guarantees. Delays happen — weather, material availability, shipping, equipment, and site conditions are not always in our control. We move fast and we tell you straight if something slips.
Installation
You must provide access to the installation area, and surfaces must be clean and suitable for what we are installing. If we arrive and conditions require extra time, labor, or materials, additional charges may apply.
We install in Springfield, Illinois and the surrounding area.
Color
Printed color does not always match what you see on a screen, and it can vary slightly between materials and between production runs. We match as closely as the process allows. If exact color matching matters to your job, tell us before we print so we can plan for it.
Final payment and release
Payment in full is required before delivery, pickup, installation, or release of the completed product. We may hold finished work until the balance is paid.
Pickup and storage
We will let you know when your order is ready. Please collect it within 30 days. After that we may charge storage, and after 90 days uncollected work may be disposed of without a refund.
Returns
Custom work is non-refundable once production starts. If we make a mistake — we printed something other than the approved proof, or the workmanship is defective — tell us and we will put it right.
Limits
If something goes wrong with a job, our responsibility is limited to what you paid for that job. We are not responsible for indirect losses such as lost business or lost profit.
Illinois law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of Sangamon County, Illinois.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. The terms in effect when you placed your order are the ones that apply to it.
